About Me

Welcome to my blog. I am a born-again Christian regularly attending a Baptist church where my husband is the youth pastor. I am also a stay-at-home/working mom of three boys ages 19, 4, and 3. I am a former public school teacher having taught 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade as well as Reading Recovery and Learning Disabled students. I also taught Study Skills and General Psychology at a Bible college in the Midwest for five years. Currently I am teaching ”Reading Diagnosis” at a university in Central Florida and tutoring learning disabled college students. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s Degree in Learning Disablilities from Stetson University. In addition, I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Missions from Baptist Bible College. My oldest son is a Sophmore at Heartland Baptist Bible College. I am currently homeschooling my youngest sons. My passion and expertise is teaching reading particularly to struggling readers. I would like this blog to chronicle my homeschool experiences with my two boys as well as offer support for homeschool parents with struggling readers.
